Initiating a Scan

The following four scanning methods are available.

  Scanning with the Scanner Buttons

Scan items simply by pressing one of the buttons on the scanner itself and you can save the images to image editing programs or PDF files, attach them to e-mail messages, or print them.
You can also use the [COPY] and [SCAN] buttons on the scanner to scan films.

  Scanning with CanoScan Toolbox

Scan items with one-click access to various complex scanning functions programmed into eight buttons, making it easy to copy or print images or make e-mail attachments, to convert text images to text data, to create PDF files, or to scan images into application programs.
You can also use the [Copy], [Print], [Save], and [Scan] buttons in the main window of CanoScan Toolbox to scan films.

  Scanning with Application Programs

Start a photo retouching program to scan images into it.
To scan images using other application programs, refer to Using the Bundled Programs.

  Scanning Films

Start CanoScan Toolbox or an application program, such as an image editing application, to scan films into it.
